about
One of six songs from the upcoming EP "To the Island, from the Lake"
www.hadeesmarket.com
I remember the day I finished this song in November of 2016, and got to perform it at an open mic for a lively live audience, with three great musicians in Te Anau, New Zealand.
This song, and the EP, is dedicated to my brother Chris Williamson, who brings the rock every day.
lyrics
Gibraltar
I’ll wear the neckerchief
You lot break off a piece of Gibraltar
I’ll write and sing and play
You take us all the way to Gibraltar
Gibraltar (we alter/the altar)
I won’t abandon you
I will imagine you on Gibraltar
We’re not the edifice
We’re at the precipice of Gibraltar
Gibraltar (we oughta/we augur)
When you were there
Clouds in your hair
I feel the vibrations
We feel the excitations (of Gibraltar)
We feel the energy
Here comes the augury of Gibraltar
Gibraltar (we honor/disorder)
When you were here
Clouds were your beard
When you were there
Clouds in your hair
