about
Fess Up kicks you out to meet the day; whatever it brings. Lyricist Andrea Ives wrote these lyrics at guitar camp, and I got to write the music. The song is a blast to play, and will make your feet move around the floor. With everything going on in our world today, sometimes you just need two-and-a-half minutes of power pop. This is the fifth song from the upcoming EP "To the Island, From the Lake."
lyrics
Fess Up
There are days
when you say to yourself
This can't be true
Morning's upon you
The cell phone is ringing
You've got the flu
Knock on the door
Your ankle is sore
That's no big deal
Cuz you've got a secret
Driving you crazy
Time to fess up and tell
Yeah you've got a secret
Driving you crazy
Time to fess up and tell
You are tapping
On the rooftop
Inside your head
You are singing
In the shower
Or so you said
All of your dreams are
Stuck to pillows
At home in bed
Life is a poem
Waiting for writers
It's time to suck it up and do
Life is a poem
Waiting for writers
It's time to suck it up and do
Waiting in frustration
Mending is ending now
Fess up who you're loving
Leave what you're hating
Go bust your seam
Pick all the colors
Paint all the pictures
In all your dreams
Mountains are calling
Music is waiting
Time is so sweet
You know a secret
Keeping you sitting
Time to talk with your feet
You know a secret
Keeping you sitting
Time to talk with your feet
Yeah you got a secret
Driving you crazy
Time to fess up and tell
Yeah you got a secret
Driving you crazy
Time to fess up and tell
Yeah you got a secret
Fess up and tell
Yeah you got a secret
Fess up and tell
Yeah you got a secret
Fess up and tell
Yeah you got a secret
Fess up and tell
